Why An Eye Flick Is The Most Effective Self Defense Technique

To do an eye flick, you must first relax your wrists. A loose wrist is essential to throwing a proper eye flick. However, you must keep your fingers rigid enough to deliver a strong impact. This allows you to use a good, quick whipping action, yet still hit hard enough to stop your attacker in place. Having gone over the hand positioning, lets talk about the actual motion that you need to use. All you have to do is throw your hand forwards towards you attacker, leading with the fingers. Do not aim specifically for one of his eyes, but instead aim for the part of his nose that rests between his eyes. Some people worry that not aiming specifically for an eye will result in the strike not being effective. Do not worry about this, it will not be a problem in real life. When you aim between their eyes, your fingers will naturally fan out and find your attackers eyes. Performing the technique like this actually gives you a better chance of success. Some good follow up techniques are ear slaps, elbows and, perhaps, some knees – if the situation calls for them. Punches and kicks are not advisable unless you you have been properly taught how to do them, as you risk hurting yourself if you do not do them properly. Just stick to proven self defense techniques and you will come out on top. So, you know how to do an eye flick, now lets consider when to do it. Properly timing the eye flick will make it much more effective. I advise you to act pre-emptively and to not delay making your move until you are in a really desperate situation. By reading this article you have taught yourself how to fend off attackers with an eye flick. It is a powerful move when applied effectively and, since I have shown you how to do the eye flick, you will be much safer in dangerous situations.

The Many Branches of the Buddhist Faith

Buddha Head Statues

Buddhism is a religion based on the teachings of Buddha which are referred to as “Dharma” or “the Dharma.”  Buddhist believe they are on a spiritual journey to Nirvana, a state of complete enlightenment.    Like all religions, Buddhism has evolved over time, fractured and adapted as the religion spread to the continent of Asia and around the globe.  There are three main sects of Buddhism today along with several lesser-known denominations of the religion.

These different Buddhist religions are all united under some core Buddhist principles. They all accept Buddha as their spiritual teacher.  The Four Noble Truths are core to their philosophies and teachings.  Those who practice Buddhism follow the principles of the Eightfold Path and believe that Buddhahood is

Self Defense : Finding A Good Training Program

The average self defense class involves an instructor teaching a small group of students basic self defense techniques. It's a very relaxed set-up, with the instructor cracking some jokes to loosen people up, and then a bit of hands on training. The students practice moves and techniques on each other, but everyone is extremely careful and no-one wants to offend anyone else. So, is this ok or not? After all, this is the approach that most self defense training school take. Surely it works if everyone does it right? Unfortunately this isn't true. The truth is, you're not training in a realistic environment. The chances are you went to the seminar with a friend, and you had a fun time there. Now, I'm not saying that you shouldn't have a good time at a self defense class, but you should be more focused on learning than having fun. You should train in an environment that simulates real life combat. So, that means there must be anger, shoving, stares, and heated verbal exchanges. If you train in a situation like this, then you will not be caught off guard when you get in a confrontation. So, try to find a school that simulates real self defense situations. You don't have to go to a self defense that leaves you with bruises and a black eye at the end of it, but you should go to one that gets your heart beating a little faster. If you can find a school that offers this, you're in good shape. Once you find a program or school that offers what you are looking for, I advise you to try it out for a week. You may have to go through three or more schools, but the effort will pay off in the long run. Once you find a good school, be sure to give your training 100% of your effort.

Through my own training, I found numerous good blogs and forums for self-defense techniques. Click the blue link to learn about powerful self defense techniques is truly definitely my personal most desired web-site for them.

Most people, including martial arts and self-defense teachers really don't know where to begin when it comes to mastering the ability to protect yourself against a real-world violent attacker. This article takes a look at the two-fold approach that I recommend to anyone who's serious about surviving a real-world attack.

To explore the conventional world of martial arts and self-defense instruction, the conventional approach seems to be to just learn a bunch of tricks and techniques, earn some rank or maybe a certification of some sort, and you're all set. Right?

The DVD is divided into six main chapters: Intro, General Knowledge, Techniques, Solo Practice, Matching Practice, and the Conclusion. These six main chapters are divided into more than 60 chapters to help you skip to the section you want to review and study. The entire program is a little over three and a half hours long, so you will want to take notes and skip back to the sections as you progress. There are subtitles that go along with Dr. Yang's instruction. I don't think they are necessary, but having them there does not hurt. They do not match the exact words of Dr. Yang, but convey the general concepts he discusses.

So, what is needed to survive a real self-defense situation?

My take on the whole self-defense approach, and what I teach my students, is two-fold.

1) First, be trained in as many options as possible so that you can act in different situations/against different attackers, and…

2) In the moment, when an attack is taking place, the defender must be able to respond to and deal with the violence itself – regardless of where it comes from or what's behind it.

One of the first things you learn in is known as Sung which translates as relaxation both inside and out. Any tension in the body will impede or stop the flow of energy through the body. This can be structural tension (bad or improper positioning), physical tension (like holding tension in your shoulders or neck simply because you do not allow them to relax) or mental or emotional tension that is manifested in the body such as jaws clenched and a tight face when someone is having a bad day.

Basic Self Defense Techniques For Men, Women & Children

The foot is often overlooked as a useful method of defending yourself, but it's actually your best 'weapon'. The foot has several solid parts that are difficult to damage however you use them. Whereas punching, particularly to solid parts of an attacker's body, can cause serious harm and even breakage. The best part of your foot to use with self defense is the heel. There are very few moving parts to the heel and this makes it very difficult to damage. Kicking with your toes or other part of the foot is not recommended as there are several small bones that comprise those portions of your foot, causing you to be vulnerable in harming yourself. When you are assaulted, the chances are it will be from behind, with the upper portion of your body being grabbed or held tightly. If and when you are assaulted from behind, bring your knee up high and then release it with as much power as possible in the direction of the attacker – primarily using your heel. This process will likely cause severe physical pain, giving you an opportunity to flee and seek help. Some of our most fragile bones are in our hands. It is improbable that whilst being attacked that you will not have a chance to grab someone's hand or fingers. Twisting or bending their fingers backwards will severely hurt them, causing them to temporarily disabled. Simply grab hold one of their fingers and put as much effort as you can muster into bending it backwards. Not only are you likely to break the particular finger you are bending, but you will have allowed yourself enough time to escape.

Because of my own training, I observed many terrific sites regarding self defense training. Click the blue link to learn about powerful self defense techniques is actually certainly my personal most desired web-site for them.
