Many people ask me what the deadliest style of martial arts is, since I’m a big fan of them. It’s expect from me to, you know, give a simple response, and that will allow them to go and learn it, and become death master ninja gurus. Truth is, there is no such thing as the deadliest type of martial arts If your interest is finding the deadliest style of martial arts, I hate to give you the bad news, but your efforts will be unsuccessful. The most destructive martial art is the one you can use with ease, is my honest response to answer that question. Anything that is complicated or requires lots of different variables for it to be effective, even if it may seem more deadly, it is really not effective in real life and therefore can not be added to your arsenal of self-defense techniques

For example, a jump spinning roundhouse kick is a very powerful technique, and a jump spinning roundhouse kick to the throat would certainly probably kill most people. However, there is no way that you are absolutely ever going to use a jump spinning roundhouse kick to the throat in a real fight. It won’t occur. They don’t ever get accomplished directly, in a situation of a real fight, of self defense. You’ll never be able to do that fancy self defense techniques, if you are being charged down your centerline, by someone trying to tackle you while in berserker mode, with their adrenaline and hormones wildly out of control. It won’t work, even if it’s guaranteed to kill. So you end up with one of the least deadly styles of martial arts, in reality. It’s impossible to utilize. It doesn’t necessarily make it deadly just because it has the probability of being so. It doesn’t happen often, but it’s deadly if while you’re walking a telephone pole lands on you. So, a telephone pole wouldn’t be considered deadly by anyone. Unlike, say, drunk drivers, which do cause accidents, those can be deadly They not only must have the potential to cause damage, but they must also do it reliably. This is the reason I advice that you keep it fundamental, if you are searching for a high rate of success.

Like the old acronym, keep it simple stupid. Really look for that when you want to learn self defense techniques. Although it may not be the deadliest style of martial arts, you can certainly make your skills the deadliest possible by keeping it simple and using basic, solid, proven techniques as the foundation of your system
